　　朋友說這是一個讓人有勇氣活下去的聲音，我說，這是一首讓人知道自己並不孤獨的音樂。I don't wanna face the world, but i know that i should.

　　The Twang，一個到現在我都還是不大知道怎麼樣唸的樂團，2007年才開始推出單曲與專輯，但每張作品都打進了UK排行榜，充滿爆炸力的雙主唱，深受90年代初Baggy與Madchester樂風影響的節奏，描寫我們這種既邊緣又離不開社會的人生，是我心目中2007年最棒的新團體，也贏得了2007年NME Phillip Hall Radar Award 。來自博明罕的他們，一開始是由主唱Phil與Bass手Jon為核心組成，因為看了Oasis的live後，認真的認為：既然Oasis做得到，那麼我們也可以！於是兩人便成立了一個樂團（原名是"Neon Twang"，不過這名字受到了排擠，所以就改名為The Twang），而在一次NME的樂評中，世人開始認識了這個原本只在家鄉表演的INDIE樂團，並使他們順勢地登上BBC的介紹，快速地走紅，台灣也快速地出現了代理專輯。The Twang的音樂常常被拿來與The Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, Oasis等比較，主唱Phil自己也說，他們的確深受這些樂團的影響（Phil自己說還有the streets， 但是我實在聽不出來哪裡有關聯...），不過只要大家認真地聽他們的音樂，就可以發現The Twang的音樂是獨特的！（連狂妄的態度都很像！）

　　其實如果要說到他們的音樂，的確是聽得出來許多前輩的影子，但是誰的音樂不會受到影響呢？我喜歡他們使用大量echo與riff的吉他，雖然這樣會想到U2，我喜歡他們中規中矩又活潑輕快的bass line，雖然這樣會想到一大票的britpop樂團，so what，我還是耽溺在超party氣息的輕快舞曲cloudy room中，還是會被either way中backing vocal喃喃的那句"i feel so much better today"所感動，音樂就是這樣，就像他們自己說的，聽了就知道了。

　　最近The Twang和The Streets合作，推出了Either Way的remix版，有興趣的可以看這裡:Either Way Remix - The Twang feat. Mike Skinner & Pro Green。而我期待他們的下一張作品，能夠在這種爆發力上開創出更好的樂章。

　　另外，花痴地補充一下，我還滿愛backing vocal - Martin Saunders的耶～聲音很棒，也非常可愛的傢伙！推薦曲：Cloudy Room / Either Way / Ice Cream Sundae.
